BETONG, Aug 21: The 26-door Rh Spencer longhouse in Ulu Sebetan, Roban was destroyed by a fire this afternoon.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 12.48pm and swiftly deployed teams of firefighters from the Saratok and Sarikei stations to the scene.

All 84 occupants escaped without injuries and will be temporarily housed at the evacuation centre located at the Roban Community Hall.
Firefighters promptly worked to extinguish the blaze using water from a nearby river.
The fire was contained by 2pm, followed by overhauling efforts. The cause of the fire and the total loss are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
