KUCHING, Aug 11: A 25-year-old woman was found dead in a river behind Waterfront Residence in Sibu.
The body of the deceased was found about 500 metres from where she was believed to be last seen.
According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident at 1.51pm and deployed a team from Bomba Sibu Sentral to the location.
Upon arrival, firefighters conducted a surface search along the riverbank near the last known location of the deceased.
The deceased’s body was found at 3.30pm by members of the public and later handed over to the police for further action.
