KUCHING, June 21: A lorry attendant has succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident involving two lorries near the Spaoh junction.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the accident at 11.43pm on June 20 and deployed firefighters from Bomba Betong to the location.
The victim, identified as Renang Brain, 24, was pinned inside the cab following the accident and was pronounced dead at the location by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) after firefighters extracted him.
The remains were later handed over to the police for further action.
Based on the report from the operations commander, the cargo lorry collided with another lorry carrying oil palm.
The driver of the cargo lorry managed to get out by himself and only suffered minor injuries on the leg. — DayakDaily
