KUCHING, Dec 8: A 22-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with the back of a pickup truck at Jalan Lutong-Kuala Baram yesterday (Dec 7).
In a TVS report, Miri District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said preliminary investigations showed the incident occurred around 10am when the victim was riding from Lutong towards the Miri city centre and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old man heading in the same direction.
“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
