KUCHING, Dec 28: A 22-year-old man was found dead after falling into a river following an accident involving a bridge barrier along Jalan Muara Mongkos in Serian early this morning.
The accident involved a vehicle that is believed to have collided with a metal barrier on a bridge, causing the victim to fall into the river below. The victim was later found unconscious by villagers.
Firefighters from the Serian Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene and confirmed that the victim, identified as Belvind Avril Bobbyson, had been pronounced dead by medical personnel.
According to Operations Commander PBK II Bujang Ina, no rescue operation was carried out as the situation was already under control upon their arrival.
The deceased was subsequently handed over to the police for further action, and firefighters later returned to the station after the operation was concluded. — DayakDaily
