KUCHING, Sept 23: A total of 227 individuals were honoured with Sarawak State Awards in a formal investiture ceremony at the Banquet Hall of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Complex in Petra Jaya today.
According to the Sarawak Information Department (JaPen), the ceremony, officiated by the Governor of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, sees entrepreneur Datin Helen Lim Hui Shyan emerge as the sole recipient of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C).
Meanwhile, two individuals received the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S)—Gedong District Council deputy chairman Japar Mustapa and Political Secretary to the Minister of National Unity Dr Stephen William.
In addition, 18 recipients received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K.), while 29 individuals were conferred the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B) award.
Meanwhile, 38 received the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.), while another 34 individuals were honoured with the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.).
A total of 62 recipients received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T.), followed by 43 for the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S.).
Present at the ceremony were Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, the wife of the Head of State; DUS Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar; Sarawak Minister for Food Industry, Commodities, and Regional Development Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; and Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Administration) Datu Buckland Bangik. — DayakDaily
