KUCHING, Aug 26: A total of 22 localities, mostly longhouses, in Bau, Tatau, Bintulu, Sebauh, Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, Belaga, Pakan and Betong are the latest to be placed under at least 14-day lockdown.
Kampung Opar in Bau, where a cluster was declared yesterday with 73 Covid-19 positive cases confirmed to date, is among the localities placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting tomorrow (Aug 27) until Sept 9.
In Tatau, EMCO has been enforced on the workers’ quarters of Tabau Plantation and Rh Ulen Anak Segaya in Ng Tekalit until Sept 6 and 7 respectively.
In Bintulu, four places are affected including three longhouses namely Rh Dunggat Anak Gani and Rh Layang Anak Kusau, both in Sg Mas along Jalan Persisiran Kuala Tatau, and Rh Sait Anak Jaya at KM22 Jalan Bintulu-Tatau (all until Sept 6); as well as a rented room above Chicwan in Medan Jaya until Sept 7.
In Sri Aman, movement restrictions have been enforced on two longhouses – RH Angos and Rh Hilary, both in Kampung Nyelam, from today until Sept 8.
In Lubok Antu, residents of two longhouses namely Rh Jamit in Pudai and Rh Ungkie in Tabau have been restricted to move about until Sept 8 and 9 respectively.
In the interior Belaga, SMK Bakun quarters is among the five localities placed under lockdown until Sept 8. The other places are TR Lenjau Lian in Uma Seping Long Bala, Uma Daro and Uma Belor with both near Sungai Asap and Simpang Anding Canteen.
In Betong, EMCO restrictions are placed on four longhouses namely Rh William in Buloh Antu, Rh Robert Walter in Nanga Gayau, Rh Lembang in Inar and Rh Legom in Serunggap until Sept 9.
EMCO is also imposed on Sebungan Plantation in Tatau and Rh Kilat near Sungai Engkabang Tugong in Pakan until Sept 7 and 11 respectively.
Meanwhile, EMCO has also been extended for another two weeks on Kampung Bungey in Debak, Betong; workers quarters of Sri Datai Mining Sdn Bhd in Mukah; and Kampung Baru in Kota Samarahan, effective from Aug 27 until Sept 9.
Residents of Kampung Medang in Spaoh, Betong also found EMCO extended in their village effective from Aug 20 to Sept 13; and the same applied to those in Kampung Tuei in Pusa from Sept 1 to 14 respectively. — DayakDaily
