KUCHING, April 5: A 21-year-old man was killed in an accident involving two motorcycles at Mile 9, Jalan Kuching-Serian, here today.
According to TVS, Kota Samarahan district police chief Supt Damataries Lautin said the 1.30am accident claimed the life of Mohammad Nur Naqib Mohamad Jefferydin from Kampung Sri Arjuna.
He said the other motorcyclist, who is 18 years old, was injured in the accident.
“Initial investigations revealed that the victim was heading from Kuching to Kampung Sri Arjuna.
“When he arrived at Mile 9, Jalan Kuching-Serian, and was heading straight, he suddenly pressed on the brakes because there was a vehicle in front about to enter the intersection, resulting in the victim being hit from behind,” he said.
He said the victim was confirmed dead at the scene at 1.51am.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
