KUCHING, March 25: A 21-year-old driver was killed in a self-accident after his car crashed into a tree in Demak Laut Industrial road today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operation center today said they were informed of the incident by Malaysia Emergency Response Service 999 (MERS 999) at 9.54am, and deployed firefighters from Tabuan Jaya to the location.
After their arrival, firefighters found that the victim was pinned to the driver’s seat and unconscious.
“Firefighters then proceeded to open the front door on the passenger side before extricating the victim using special rescue tools.
“However, the victim was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the body was later handed over to the police for further action,” it said. — DayakDaily
