MIRI, April 19: Twenty-one local men who were involved in a brawl at a bistro in Vista Perdana Desa Bahagia and also at Lorong 1F Jalan Desa Pujut 2 Permyjaya on last Friday (April 14), have been charged in the Miri Session Court here today (Wednesday).
The suspects, aged between 19 to 40, faced multiple charges under the Penal Code for mischief, robbery on the property, causing destruction of the property, voluntarily causing hurt and rioting.
However, no plea was taken after the charges were read to them before Miri Session Court Judge Zaini Fishir.
The court has fixed May 10 for mention of the case.
All suspects, clad in orange coloured lockup uniforms, arrived at the Miri Court building around 9.21am, escorted by approximately 10 police persoonnel from Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The suspects were charged with committing the various offences on April 14 at the bistro in Vista Perdana Desa Bahagia at about 12.15am and at Lorong 1F Jalan Desa Bahagia Pujut 2 Permyjaya around 1.30am. — DayakDaily
