KUCHING, Feb 10: Nine doors out of a 21-door longhouse were affected by a landslide, which damaged the kitchen area at Rumah (Rh) Alin Sungai Dulang Suai Niah last night (Feb 9).
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 8.10pm, and firefighters were deployed.
Upon arrival at 8.53pm, the operations commander reported that firefighters immediately conducted monitoring works while inspecting the landslide.
“The results of the monitoring that was carried out found that the landslide nine out of 21 doors, causing damage to the kitchen,” said the spokesperson, adding that no one was harmed during the incident.
Firefighters also advised residents to be vigilant because the soil structure at the location is unstable and at risk of collapsing again if heavy rain occurs.
