200 participants join AgriCop programme at Rh Margaret Ugak, Lukut

KANOWIT, Oct 2: Some 200 participants from Kanowit participate in the AgriCop programme held at Rh Margaret Ugak, Lukut today.

Participants were briefed by offices from Agriculture Department on AgriCop programme, RMK 11 agricultural development plan, durian garden technology, PAT-G Application and the use of PAT-G Card and Farmers Organisation Authority’s future direction.

The event, which was officiated by Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong, also saw firefighters from Kanowit Fire and Rescue Department demonstrating the use of fire extinguisher.

Allan hoped that such a programme will not only increase participants’ knowledge in agriculture but also provide direct exposure on the latest technology to the target group and bringing them and the general public closer to the government through the Agriculture Department.

During the event, he announced a RM70,000 RTP fund for Rh Margerat Ugak, Lukut to repair their longhouse.

Allan also gave 200 rambutan saplings to each participant.

Among those present were Datuk Seri Gramong Juna, Datin Seri Catherine Gramong, assistant agriculture officer Nicholas Jati , Pemanca Lawrence Melaka Rimba, department heads, Kanowit District councillors, longhouse chiefs and the local communities. -DayakDaily
