KUCHING, June 21: Twenty flat residents in Permyjaya, Miri have tested positive for Covid-19, which gave rise to a new cluster subbed the Lapan Enam Quadruplex Cluster.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily Covid-19 report today said this community cluster had spread through social movement and close contacts.
So far, a total of 61 individuals have been screened for Covid-19. From this, 20 individuals have tested positive, 34 individuals have tested negative and seven individuals are awaiting Covid-19 swab test results.
In the meantime, all Covid-19 patients were admitted to Miri Hospital and Covid-19 quarantine and low-risk treatment centres (PKRC) in Miri for isolation and treatment.
Meanwhile, the Lapan Enam Quadruplex Cluster in Miri was among three new clusters identified in Sarawak today.
The other two clusters are the Kevok Cluster in Telang Usan and the Jalan Baru-Tatau-Bintulu Cluster in Tatau.
With this, there are a total of 98 active clusters in the State, with 14 reporting 193 new cases today. — DayakDaily
