KUCHING, Oct 7: The first out of 20 Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today was traced back to Sept 7, involving a 63-year-old woman in Sarikei who was a brought-in-dead (BID) case.
According to reports by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), one death each was also recorded on Sept 23, 27, 29, 30 and Oct 1.
The deceased ranged from 44 to 83-years-old, with one each from Sarikei, Kapit, Mukah, Limbang and Kuching.
Following that, six, one, and three Covid-19 mortalities were registered, respectively, on Oct 2, 3, and 4, whereby all victims were with comorbidities.
Bintulu and Sri Aman claimed three fatalities each, Sibu two, Samarahan and Kuching one each. There were also three BIDs whose ages ranged between 70 and 71.
On Oct 5 and 6, a total of four fatalities were detected, with one each from Sibu, Sarikei, Betong, and Sri Aman. All four of them had comorbidities as well.
The cumulative number of deaths in Sarawak now stands at 959. — Dayakdaily
