2 suspects arrested in connection with 7 crime cases in Sibu

SIBU, Aug 16: The police have reportedly solved six crime cases following the arrest of two men, believed to be involved in snatching, theft, cable theft, and a commercial crime case.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, stated that the arrests were made after a woman lodged a report on Aug 12.

According to her, at around 11.41am while she was walking towards Medan Mall along Jalan Tong Sang, a man on a motorcycle snatched her handbag.

The total loss reported was RM800, including a mobile phone and several personal documents.

Acting on this report, the police tracked down and apprehended a 28-year-old man at 8.10pm the same day.

During the arrest, the police seized a motorcycle, several bank ATM cards, two mobile phones, and a pawn shop receipt from the suspect.

Subsequently, at around 9.30pm, another suspect, who is believed to be an accomplice, was also detained.

Both suspects have been remanded for seven days until Aug 20 as investigations continue under Section 395 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
