KUCHING, Dec 11: Voters in N17 Stakan constituency have been urged by DAP candidate Leslie Ting Xiang Zhi to check on their respective polling stations as two polling stations in the constituency have moved.

Ting said the changes would affect some 2,000 voters.

One of the polling stations which was originally located at Perpustakaan Desa Taman Samarindah has been changed to the newly opened Sekolah Kebangsaan St Martin, which is behind Liya vegetable market.

Voters who would originally be casting their votes at Dewan Persatuan Masyarakat Jalan Muara Tuang will have to go to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Wira Penrissen polling station, located next to the barracks on Kuching-Serian Road 8.

“I appeal to all the voters in Stakan to check their own polling stations before they go out to vote on Dec 18. This is to avoid ending up at the wrong station, unnecessary confusion and extra hassle.

“I also urge all of you to come out and vote. As long as you wear your masks and maintain social distancing, it is safer to go and vote than to sit in a coffee shop or a crowded supermarket,” Ting said in a statement today. — DayakDaily
