2 men arrested in relation to shooting incident in Bintulu

KUCHING, Nov 8: Two men, including a foreign national, have been arrested upon suspicion of being involved in a shooting incident in Bintulu.

According to a news report from New Sarawak Tribune today, Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Ali said both suspects, in their 40s, were arrested in Miri after fleeing the crime scene.

“Following the arrest, the police seized a vehicle believed to have been used in the case.

“A remand application will be submitted to the Bintulu Magistrate’s Court, and investigations are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code to assist in the investigation,” he was quoted as saying.

He added that police are currently tracking down those involved in the case and urged the public to not speculate about the incident.

Earlier today, a one minute and 30 second video circulated online showed two men shooting and chasing another man before repeatedly attacking the victim with a machete.

The victim, a local man, was found covered in blood and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. — DayakDaily
