2 local men arrested following death of plantation worker in Lundu

KUCHING, March 30: Two local men have been arrested by the police following the death of a plantation worker in Lundu on March 10.

Sarawak police commissioner Dato Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri in a statement today confirmed the arrest.

He said the two suspects, aged 24 and 25, were arrested in front of the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex in Biawak Lundu yesterday (March 29), for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

ā€œPolice also confiscated a weapon believed to be used to attack the victim.

ā€œA detailed investigation will be conducted and the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for charges to be made,ā€ he added.

Mohd Azman said on March 10 at 9.20pm, police received a report regarding a murder involving a plantation worker in front of the Polima Sdn Bhd plantation in Lundu.

He also said investigations revealed that the suspects had acted aggressively by attacking the 25-year-old victim on the head and face, resulting in his death. ā€” DayakDaily
