2 Indonesian runaways from quarantine in Sri Aman captured

KUCHING, Aug 14: Two Indonesian men who escaped from the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) in Sri Aman have been recaptured.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily updates on Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that they have been handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) for further action to be taken.

In addition, police also arrested one Indonesian man as well as three locals comprising one man and two women for attempting to cross district without valid permits.


Apart from these four arrests, police have issued seven compounds in Kuching for violations of the standard operating procedures (SOP) in the past 24 hours.

The compounds were issued for failure to practice physical distancing (4), failure to scan MySejahtera or register attendance prior to entering premises (2) and not wearing face masks in public places (1).

The local authorities also issued three compounds under Bau District Council, Kota Samarahan Municipal Council and Bintulu Development Board respectively.

The violations include failure to update registration book (2) and failure to register with MySejahtera or manually using log book. — DayakDaily
