12 EMCOs coming to end, 7 new locations locked down

KUCHING, May 20: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) currently affecting 12 premises in Sarawak is coming to an end by today, with only one area left which will end by tomorrow (May 21).

According to the reports by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, the 12 locations included 10 longhouses, one village and one oil palm employees’ quarters.


Kampung Bungey, Debak in Betong is the one location where its EMCO is scheduled to end by tomorrow.

The others were Rh Austine Kilat, Nanga Ngungun and Rh Banyoi Ladi, Nanga Sengayan in Kanowit; Rh Dick, Batu 8, Jalan Oya in Sibu; Rh Luyoh and Rh Unjan, Nanga Lango in Julau; Palm Head Holding employees’ quarters, Ladang Sebubu and Rh Peter Suring, Sg Silas, Jalan Ulu Sebauh in Bintulu; Rh Chan Minggat, Sg Kesa and Rh Rampai, Sg Anyit, Selangan in Sarikei; Rh Midan, Berasok and Rh Payau, Emperan Datuk, Sg Pinang in Pakan.

Meanwhile, SDMC announced the implementation of the same order on seven new locations including five longhouses, one village and one primary school.

The 14-day lockdown on Kampung Boyan, Kuching will start tomorrow (May 21) until June 3.

While Rh Wun Ering, SK Bakerkong in Tanjung Manis and Rh Gandik, Lui, Sungai Engkabang, Roban in Betong have started their 14-day EMCO today, Rh Saba, Nunggang, Rh Rinya, Jagoi Lama and Rh Buking, Ulu Kakup in Pakan will undergo a 17-day lockdown starting today until June 5. — DayakDaily
