KUCHING, Dec 23: A 19-year-old girl will be charged for murdering her own newborn daughter, which will carry a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Magistrate’s Court here ordered the case of the 19-year-old girl to be transferred to the High Court and the accused to be further remanded until the case is settled.
The girl allegedly killed her newborn daughter at an apartment in Jalan Bukit Mata, at about 9.15pm on Jan 13, 2021.
She was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
According to the early report, the baby died from severe head injuries and was found at 9.20pm by the public.
