KUCHING, June 9: A teenage girl and an unidentified female passenger were killed while a man was injured following a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the Batang Sadong Bridge in Simunjan today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 6.30am today, and firefighters from the Simunjan station were deployed.
It was noted that the accident involved a Perodua Myvi and a lorry that was believed to have broken down.
Due to the collision, the two female victims were believed to have been thrown out of the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
Firefighters moved the deceased victims to a safe location before handing them over to the police for further action. One of the victims was identified as 19-year-old Nurfazilah Ramli.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Myvi, a 30-year-old man, sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital, whereas the driver of the lorry, a 22-year-old man, was uninjured. — DayakDaily
