PUTRAJAYA: The Foreign Ministry said that the 19 Malaysian climbers who were stranded following a mudslide at Terskol Village, Russia on Friday, have been evacuated and are due to arrive back here tomorrow.

According to Bernama, Wisma Putra in a statement said the climbers managed to summit the 5,642-metre high Mount Elbrus at 8.30am yesterday and were later evacuated to a safe place by local authorities.

“The climbers will be transferred to a nearby airport at Moneralnye Vody before flying out to Moscow,” the ministry said.
