MIRI, Aug 3: An 18-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident at Tanjong Lobang on Friday night (Aug 2).
According to Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the occurred around 11.45 pm when the victim lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a tree on the road divider.
He added that the victim was driving from Luak towards the Marina when the driver lost control.
The car sustained severe damage to its left side due to the impact.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to Miri Hospital, where he was admitted with severe injuries. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 1.35am on Aug 3.
The police have initiated an investigation under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 to determine the cause of the accident. — DayakDaily
