SIBU, Dec 10: A pillion rider lost his life early Monday morning when the motorcycle he was riding on collided head-on with another motorcycle at Jalan Kemuyang.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit in his statement today said the victim had been identified as Ridley Raymond, 16, of Taman Desa Kemuyang.
He said the victim was riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old youth.
“They were on their way from Kemuyang housing estate to Jalan Kemuyang roundabout when their machine collided head-on with another motorcycle,” he said.
The rider of the other motorcycle, was found without a motorcycle license. His thigh and left hand were broken in the accident.
Meanwhile, the other rider suffered a broken rib and bodily injury.
The two were admitted to Sibu Hospital for treatment.
The case, Stanley said is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. —DayakDaily
