16 primary, secondary schools’ PTAs under Layar constituency receive MRP grant

BETONG, May 22: Layar assemblyman Gerald Rentap Jabu has presented a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant totalling RM190,000 to 16 Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) here particularly primary and secondary schools under Layar constituency.

The schools involved were SK Nanga Lawih, SK Nanga Spak, SK St Mark, SK St Peter, SK St Paul, SK St Bartholomew, SK Nanga Ajau, SK Nanga Passa, SK Abang Abdul Kadir, SK St Augustine Betong, SJKC Chung Hua Betong, SK Saka, SMK Ulu Layar, SMK St Augustine Betong, SMK Datuk Patinggi Kedit, Betong Vocational College dan Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Betong.

A simple ceremony of the cheque presentation was carried out yesterday in accordance with standard operating procedure (SOP).


Representatives from each school recorded their appreciation to Gerald for the allocation that will allow the PTAs to continue carrying out activities as well as fulfill some of the needs in the schools.

In another development, Gerald also took the opportunity to visit the roadblock operation at Betong junction together with Betong Division Disaster Management Committee (Betong DDMC).

The purpose of the visit was to inspect the situation as well as to see if there were any shortages or challenges in carrying out the operations.

Betong Division Resident who also leads the Betong DDMC Friday Belik and Betong Division Health Officer Dr Johnny Pangkas were present. — DayakDaily
