SARIKEI, Dec 21: Fourteen residents, including elderly individuals and young children from four families, escaped unharmed after their two-storey house at Jalan Kin San was engulfed in flames today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak promptly mobilised a team of firefighters from Sarikei Station upon receiving an emergency call at 1.47pm.
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.

All residents, aged from seven to 73, managed to evacuate to a secure location.
The firefighters successfully extinguished the fire by 5.35pm and conducted a thorough sweep to ensure no potential sources of ignition remained before concluding the operation. — DayakDaily
