14 Miri business owners compounded for illegally displaying tables, chairs and goods

MIRI, March 13: A total of 14 errant business operators around the city centre were slapped with compounds for illegally displaying of tables, chairs and goods along five-foot-ways and parking spaces.

Miri City Council (MCC) in a statement said, the compounds totaling RM7,000 (RM500 per operator), were issued on Monday morning (March 13) for violating Cleanliness ByLaw Section 18, during an operation.

A total of 17 enforcement officers were involved in the three-hour operation which kicked off at 9am.


Amongst business premises inspected were a car wash, workshops and food premises.

The council strongly reminded business operators to abide with its rules and regulations as stated in their permits. — DayakDaily
