14 Lodge School students receive Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

KUCHING, Jan 27: A total of 14 students from Lodge National Secondary School received the prestigious Gold Award under the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award today.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is also known as ‘Anugerah Remaja Perdana Rakan Muda’ in Malaysia. According to a press release, the awards were presented to the students by Sarawak Youth and Sports Department director Azura Sarbin.

To qualify for the gold award, participants must complete various activities related to community service, various skills, sports and adventurous tasks within a 12-month duration.


Lodge Group of Schools director Su Hiong Ai extended his heartiest congratulations to the students.

“I am proud of their achievements because they have shown great determination to complete (the requirements for) the award during this challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic. I also wish them all the best in the upcoming SPM in February, “ he said.

Since 2014, 146 students from Lodge National Secondary School have received the award. — DayakDaily
