BINTANGOR, June 1: A 13-year-old boy is feared to have drowned after he was believed to have fallen into a river near Tuai Rumah Leman Lempa Ampu this morning.
According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), firefighters from the Bintangor fire station and police were dispatched to the location, which was approximately 40km away, after receiving an alert call at 2.33pm.
“Search and rescue (SAR) efforts began by going down a 2km stretch from where the victim is believed to have fallen.
“As of 5pm, the victim has not yet been found. The SAR operation was postponed due to nightfall, and it will resume tomorrow morning (June 2),” read the statement.
In addition, authorities reported that there is no network coverage at the scene. — DayakDaily
