KUCHING, Aug 12: A total of 136 recipients were conferred with State awards and medals by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at the Dewan Besar of Astana Negeri here yesterday (Aug 11).
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the ceremony commenced with the conferment of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) award to six recipients, namely Pemanca Peter@Peter Lai Sakul, Pemanca Lau Oi Phen, Hii Sieh Toh, Wong Tiong Kee, Jong Yee Kie, and Musin Radin.
The ceremony continued with the conferment of the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) award on 18 recipients, including Mohamad Khirudin Amdan, Mohamad Jirin Anis, Dr Victor Luna, Rambli Ahmad, Ting King Boh, and Saip Sulong.
Meanwhile, the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) award was conferred on 30 recipients, including Kuah Ted Chai, Lau Ing Kung, Chu Chin Siang, Lee Foh Kueh, Liew Tho Bui, Tang Liung Poh, Tang Tiing Ping, Tang Teck Ann, Nawan Bala, Tay Guan Boo, Aging Bato, Eric William Usan, Michael Nyaleng, and Robert Jeno.
The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) award was conferred on 14 recipients while Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) was awarded to 34 recipients.
The ceremony concluded with the conferment of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS) to 34 recipients.
Also present at the ceremony was Sarawak Governor’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib. — DayakDaily
