131 active Covid-19 clusters in Sarawak, 4 ended today

KUCHING, Sept 23: The number of Covid-19 active clusters in Sarawak stands at 131 after four clusters were declared ended and no new clusters were reported today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, announced that four clusters were declared ended after no new local cases were reported in the past 28 days.

They are the Kampung Bunuk Cluster and Tanjong Bako Cluster, both in Kuching, as well as the Jalan Buan Cluster in Tatau and Jalan Hospital Cluster in Sri Aman.

However, six active clusters registered a slight increase in infections with a total of 19 positive cases, contributing to today’s caseload of 1,766.

They are the Industri Jalan Semeba Cluster which added six more cases, Sibulu-Nowang Cluster (5 cases), Batu 13 Jalan Puncak Borneo Cluster (3 cases), Pinang Jawa Cluster (3 cases), while the Kampung Sikog Cluster and Chama Ajai Cluster picked up one case each.

As of Sept 22, there were 43,101 active cases in Sarawak, out of which 36,877 or 85.6 per cent were under home quarantine while 5,144 or 11.9 per cent were placed at Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRCs) throughout the State.

A total of 967 patients or 2.2 per cent of the total active cases are hospitalised, while 73 patients or 0.2 per cent are in intensive care units (ICU) unventilated and 40 patients or 0.1 per cent are in ICU requiring ventilator support. — DayakDaily
