KUCHING, May 8: A 13-foot-long saltwater crocodile was caught near Tanah Perkuburan Islam Samariang here yesterday (May 7).

In a Facebook live video yesterday, the District Civil Defence Force (APM) spokersperson informed that a distress call was made by the public around 4.15pm.

“The wild creature was spotted in a ditch near the cemetery by the local villagers who were fishing for shrimp nearby.

“Three APM personnel were involved in the operation to catch the crocodile.

“After the operation, the creature was handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) for further action,” he said.

In the four minute long video, the creature was seen struggling while the APM team was securing the ropes tied to it.
