SARATOK, May 1: A 12-year-old girl with disabilities was killed in a house fire in Kampung Tanjung Hulu, Jalan Abang Haji Puteh Alias yesterday (April 30).
A Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the department received a report on the fire at 8.18pm, and firefighters from the Saratok Bomba station were deployed to the scene.
“The fire involved a two-storey house. It was learned that the victim, who is a person with disabilities (PwD), was found charred in the bedroom,” he said in a statement today.
He also noted that the blaze was under control at 8.45pm and that the victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
