SIBU, July 14: The Sibu International BASE Jump event is making a comeback after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at a press conference here today, Sibu Resident Wong Hee Sieng said the 12th edition of the event will take place from Sept 15 to 17 at the 28-storey Wisma Sanyan.
“We have received confirmation from several local and international jumpers. We will reveal the final number on September 14 which is the last day of entry,” he said.
Interested jumpers may register their participation via www.sibuinternationalbasejump.com before Sept 14.
“This event is organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Wisma Sanyan, and Ababil Base Jump Club which is the technical adviser,” added Wong.
Jumpers participating in previous events have come from United States of America, Belarus, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia and United Kingdom. — DayakDaily
