SIBU, Sept 1: Twelve people were left homeless after three houses were razed by a fire in Kampung Muara Bunut Meradong here this morning.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a distress call regarding the incident around 9.20am before despatching a team of firefighters from Bintangor Fire Station (BBP) to the scene.
“The operation commander (Nicholas Belulin) reported that the fire involved three wooden houses which had been destroyed. The size of each home is approximately 20×20 square feet.
“No casualties were reported, and it is understood that none of the occupants were home during the incident,” it said. — DayakDaily
