TEBEDU, Nov 27: A total of 115 residential lots in Kampung Paon Rimu will be surveyed under the traditional village category.
According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Serian Division Land and Survey Department stated that the application for this initiative was approved on Dec 2, 2022.
However, implementation could only proceed this year due to efforts to secure funding from the Sarawak government.
The survey aims to issue land titles under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code for the granting of permanent ownership status.
Each lot will not exceed half an acre and must have proper access.
Eligibility criteria for ownership require applicants to be at least 18-years-old and hold Bumiputera Sarawak status.
Those without such status, as indicated on their identification card or birth certificate, must submit a copy of the gazette declaring them “deemed to be native” under Section 20 of the 1992 Native Court Ordinance.
Residents of the three Kampung Paon Rimu villages are encouraged to extend their full cooperation and support to ensure the smooth execution of the surveying process. — DayakDaily
