KUCHING, Aug 2: A total of 113 fully vaccinated Kuching residents are among those reported to be tested Covid-19 positive yesterday (Aug 1, 2021).
According to the statistics of Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Dato Sri Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian, out of the 317 total cases reported in Kuching by Pejabat Kesihatan Bahagian Kuching (PKB Kuching) yesterday, another 76 individuals who had tested positive were those who had received one dose immunisation.
A total of 47 Covid-19 victims, however, are those yet to take immunisation jabs.
Dr Sim, who is also Batu Kawah assemblyman, also pointed out that among those tested positive yesterday, 43 of them are those not eligible for vaccination, mainly referring to those below 18 years of age.
In terms of locations of occurrence, Dr Sim in his social media posting unveiled that workplace infections are high in comparison with a total 90 cases.
Meanwhile in Kuching district, Kampung Bumbok recorded the highest number of cases of 19, followed by Kampung Bintawa Tengah with 15 cases and Kampung Braang Bidak, Kampung Nyiru Grait as well as Taman Satria Jaya registered 12 cases respectively.
Samajaya Industrial Park continued to yield cases amounting to 10 yesterday and the residential area nearby it, Muara Tabuan also reported five cases.

Kampung Bumbok (19), Kampung Bintawa Tengah (15); Kampung Braag Bidak, (12); Kampung Nyiru Grait (12), Kampung Satria Jaya (12), Kampung Bintawa Ulu (11), Kampung Bunuk (10), Samajaya Industrial Park (10), Jalan Temenggong Haji Gobil, (9) and Kampung Punau (7).
Villages and residential area with six cases were Datuk Temenggong Tan Meng Chong, Kampung Quop, Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman and Kampung Rampangi Fasa 1.
Taman Flora Indah, Muara Tabuan, Kampung Garun, Hospital Sentosa, Semariang Skim Fasa 3 reported five cases respectively while Kampung Muara Tebas, RPR Batu Harmoni, Workers’ quarters of Metro Glide at Taman Sri Matang, Kampung Sungai Apong Baru, four cases each.
Jalan Foochow No 1, Kampung Tabuan Lot, Kampung Tabuan Tengah, Taman Kopodims, Taman High Park and residential area along Jalan Pinang Jawa 6 all reported three Covid-19 cases. — DayakDaily
