KUCHING, Aug 9: A total of 112 fully vaccinated Kuching residents were among those reported to be infected with Covid-19 yesterday.
According to the statistics from Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, out of the 320 Covid-19 cases recorded in Kuching by Pejabat Kesihatan Bahagian Kuching (PKB Kuching), 47 other individuals who tested positive were those who had received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
He added that 66 individuals had also contracted Covid-19 but were not eligible for vaccination, primarily comprising those below 18 years of age.
There were also 87 individuals who were infected with Covid-19 but their vaccination status has yet to be determined.
In terms of clusters, Dr Sim who is also Minister for Local Government and Housing said family clusters accounted for the highest number of people infected with 51 followed by workplace clusters with 26 individuals infected and social clusters with 22 people testing positive for Covid-19.
As for locations with Covid-19 cases in Kuching district, Kampung Bumbok recorded the highest number of cases with 22 followed by Lions Nursing Home with 18 , and Kampung Pulo Ulu with 10.
The other locations in Kuching which reported single-digit case numbers include Kampung Sungai Jernang with seven, Kampung Tanjong Bako (7), Kampung Bintawa Ulu (6), Kampung Tabuan Ulu (6), Kampung Braang Bayang (5), Kampung Jaya Bakti (5), Jalan Desa Wira (5), Taman Malihah (5), Kampung Goebilt (4), Kampung Braang Payang (4), RPR Matang Batu 8 (4), Jalan Ngee Soon (4), Taman Sg Tengah (3), Taman Cahaya Indah (3),Taman Sukama (3), Banjaran Serapi (3) and Kampung Nyiru Grait (3). — DayakDaily
