11 reappointed as political secretaries to Sarawak Premier

KUCHING, July 7: Eleven individuals were sworn in for their reappointment as political secretaries to the Sarawak Premier in a ceremony held at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) building today.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

This reappointment is a recognition of their contributions and vital roles in supporting the Premier’s leadership and in strengthening the State government’s political and administrative machinery at the grassroots level.

Those reappointed include Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, Roseline Mapong Sabai, Bell Aggan @ Bell Bernard Aggan, and Paulus Dandee Banyan, all from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

Another four are from the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP): Kho Teck Wan, Kua Jack Seng, Angellie Stephen Raja, and William Anut.

Two are from the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS)—Rosaline Neging and Pandang Semat, while Sam Laya represents the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).

Political secretaries to the Sarawak Premier serve as vital liaisons between the government and the people, particularly in communicating policies, explaining State development initiatives, and ensuring active public participation in Sarawak’s transformation agenda.

These appointments are expected to strengthen further the State government’s commitment to ensuring political stability, public well-being, and continued progress as Sarawak moves toward its vision of becoming a developed State by 2030.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; Minister for Food Industry, Commodities, and Regional Development Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; Minister for Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin; and Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai were also present.

Other attendees included Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Majang Renggi; Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu; Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil; Deputy Minister for Transport (Aviation and Roads) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil; Deputy Minister for Transport (Maritime and Riverine) Dato Henry Harry Jinep; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law and Native Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat; Chief Political Secretary to the Premier Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman; and Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee. — DayakDaily
