11 new deaths in Sarawak involving high blood pressure, 1 with no underlying health condition

KUCHING, Oct 11: All Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today have high blood pressure comorbidity except for a 77-year-old woman from Sri Aman who had no underlying health condition.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said the 12 new deaths which occurred between Oct 4 and 9, have pushed the State’s death toll to 996.

The deceased, aged between 50 and 82, came from Samarahan, Sibu, Sri Aman, Miri, Kuching, Betong and Serian.


There was one casualty each reported on Oct 4 and Oct 5 involving a 75-year-old man from Samarahan and a 76-year-old man from Sibu. Both had high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia.

On Oct 6, four deaths were reported, involving two men and two woman from Sri Aman, Sibu, Miri and Kuching aged between 67 to 77.

On Oct 8, four deaths were also reported involving men aged between 50 to 67 from Samarahan, Betong, Sibu and Serian.

Two deaths were reported on Oct 9 involving a 60-year-old man and a 82-year-old woman from Kuching. — DayakDaily
