11 areas ordered to be placed under EMCO in Sarawak

KUCHING, July 16: Kampung Astana Lot, Kampung Sungai Bedil, and Kampung Seratau in Kuching are among the 11 localities throughout the State designated to undergo the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, said for Kampung Astana Lot, Kampung Sungai Bedil, and Kampung Seratau, the two-weeks EMCO implementation will begin tomorrow (July 17) until July 30.

According to the committee, in four localities namely Rh Ningkan in Spaoh, as well as in Rh Brinau and Rh Maja, both in Sg Baron of Sarikei, including Rh Anthony in Sg Merah Dayu of Pakan, the EMCO implementation starts today (July 16) until Aug 1.


For four others localities, Rh Dayang Anak Seran in Mile34 along Bintulu-Miri of Bintulu, Rh Enbau Anak Anting in Sungai Sebemban along Kuala Tatau Coastal road of Bintulu, Rh Radin Anak Jelemin in Sg Entajum Sangan of Bintulu, and Rh Sap in Sg Tulai of Bintangor, the EMCO implementation has already started since yesterday (July 15), until July 28.

On the same note, SDMC also announced the end of the EMCO implemented in two localities in Miri, and one locality each in Tatau, Sebauh, Kanowit and Meradong.

The affected localities are Sunny Crop Plantation workers quarters in Sungai Anau of Tatau (July 16), Jejalong Palm Oil Mill worker quarters in Tubau of Sebauh (July 16), Rh Isa Anak Nyawai and Rh Banyang Anak Ngalai, both in Sungai Sengkabang Sibuti of Miri (July 16), while for two localities involving Nanga Tada Resettlement Scheme in Kanowit, and Rh Nyandang in Sg Rayah along KJD road Bintangor of Meradong, the EMCO implemented, will end tomorrow (July 17). –DayakDaily.
