KUCHING, Nov 21: Ministry of Health (MOH) disclosed a total of 1,041 new cases of positive Covid-19 were reported throughout the country as of today, with three new clusters identified, and three deaths recorded.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullan, in a press statement today, said from the total number of new cases recorded, two were imported cases, while the rest were local transmission.

Three new cluster were also identified, namely the Jalan Harapan cluster in Selangor (17 positive cases), the Kota Kecil cluster in Johor (nine positive case) and the Sky Coklat cluster in Labuan (seven positive cases).

“Three states recorded highest number of new cases namely Selangor with 402 cases (38.6 percent), followed by Sabah with 346 cases (33.2 percent) and Negeri Sembilan with 121 cases (11.6 percent), Kuala Lumpur (68), Johor, (33), Perak (29), Pulau Pinang (17), Labuan (12), Kelantan (seven) and Kedah (six), while Sarawak, Pahang, Terengganu, Perlis, and Putrajaya recorded zero new case for today.

“This brings the total cumulative number of positive Covid-19 in the country to 53,679 cases, with 12,854 active cases,” he said.

Dr. Noor Hisham noted a total of 1,405 cases involving positive Covid-19 had recovered and discharged from the hospital today, bringing the total cumulative number of discharged cases to 40,493 (75.43 per cent).

He said that currently a total of 108 cases are being treated in the hospital intensive care unit (ICU) with 45 cases under respiratory assistance.

“However, three death were also recorded in Sabah today, involving two Malaysian and one foreigner. This brings the total cumulative number of deaths involving Covid-19 in the country to 332 cases (0.62 per cent). – DayakDaily.
