10 import, one local Covid-19 cases in Malaysia

KUCHING, Aug 29: Malaysia records 11 new Covid-19 cases today, with 10 imported cases and one local transmission case.

Ministry of Health revealed that the 10 imported cases involved six Malaysians and four non-Malaysians who respectively arrived in the country from India, Indonesia and Qatar.


Out of these cases, eight were reported in Kuala Lumpur and two in Selangor.

As for the locally-transmitted case, the patient is a Malaysian who was detected positive of Covid-19 in Sarawak resulting from a pre-surgery screening in the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

With that, the ministry summarised a cumulative number of 9,317 Covid-19 cases nationwide, with 154 active cases which are subjected to transmission.

Besides that, the ministry also stated in its official statement today, eight positive Covid-19 cases that are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) and six cases needing respiratory assistance.

It also stated that there were eight recoveries in the country with successful discharge amounting to 9,038 cumulative number of recovery cases recorded.—DayakDaily
