KUCHING, May 24: Ten women have qualified for the grand finale of the Mrs Tasik Biru 2025 pageant, which will take place at the main stage of Tasik Biru Resort City tomorrow (May 25).
In the semi-final round held on Saturday night (May 23) at the same venue, the finalists who advanced are Voon Ngat Jan, Angeletti Amen, Chrisna Entera, Jessica Giang, Annette Diseng, Jennifer Andrew, Ennelia Johnek, Shinia James, Fellicia Pamella, and Shino Chung.
The grand prize winner will take home RM2,500, while the first and second runners-up will receive RM2,000 and RM1,500, respectively.
Several subsidiary titles are also being contested, including Best Evening Gown, Best Traditional Contemporary Dress, Mrs Photogenic, Mrs Body Beautiful, and Mrs Popularity.
The Best Evening Gown title was won by Shinia James, a 28-year-old housewife and mother of three.
“I am grateful to the organisers for this opportunity. I did not expect to win this award, but I truly appreciate it and thank God for this journey,” she said.
According to Shinia, her gown was inspired by Miss Universe designs but was customised to suit her taste.
“Everything was custom-made. I hired a tailor to bring my vision to life, and it took about three months to complete,” she added.
The Bidayuh woman from Kampung Peninjau Baru, Serembu, also shared that this is her first beauty pageant participation since getting married in 2020.
Before that, the graduate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) had competed in several beauty pageants, winning Miss Tasik Biru 2017 and Kumang Gawai Federal Territory Labuan 2018.
Present to officiate the semi-finals of Mrs Tasik Biru 2025 were Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin and his wife, Datin Chooi Ling Yee. Also in attendance was Bau District Officer, Eddy Nayoi.
Mrs Tasik Biru 2025 is held in conjunction with the 205th anniversary of the Bau District, the Tasik Biru Festival, and the official opening of Tasik Biru Resort City. — DayakDaily
