10 compounds issued for SOP violations across Sarawak

KUCHING, Nov 25: Police issued 10 compounds for violations of standard operating procedures (SOP) over a 24-hour period.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, revealed that three compounds were issued in Sarikei and Saratok respectively while two were in Padawan and one each in Betong and Simunjan.

On road block operations mounted in Kuching district following the enforcement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), a total of 6,063 vehicles were checked.


The cumulative number of vehicles inspected was 114,608. Of the number, 613 vehicles had been ordered to turn back since Nov 9.

Meanwhile, the Local Government and Housing Ministry also issued 119 oral, written and seizure notices under Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) (32), Kuching South City Commission (MBKS) (19), Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) (19), Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) (19), Marudi District Council (13), Serian District Council (3), Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) (3), Sarikei District Council (3) and Miri City Council (1).

Compliance checks were also carried out on 1,366 premises throughout Sarawak involving 140 supermarkets, restaurants (287), factories (11), banks (103), government offices (38), hawkers (34), markets (50), houses of worship (55), recreational areas (34), construction sites (18) and others (596). — DayakDaily
