KUCHING, Oct 7: The Bungey 2 wedding cluster in Betong is among the 10 active clusters in Sarawak that has continued to record new cases, with 36 added today.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that the 10 active clusters have contributed a total of 55 cases to today’s caseload of 1,413.
The other nine clusters that recorded new infections are the Long Urun Cluster which added six more cases and the Kampung Lintang Baru Cluster (3 cases), while the Duras Cluster, Opar Cluster and Tembok Limbang Cluster recorded two cases each.
The Kampung Bunga Cluster, Sibuluh-Nowang Cluster, Batu 13 Jalan Puncak Borneo Cluster and Mundai Cluster recorded one case each.
SDMC has also declared the end of four clusters today, namely the Tembok Sri Aman Cluster in Sri Aman, Telok Batu Cluster in Meradong, Sungai Segan Cluster in Bintulu and Suchong Balut Cluster in Julau, after no new local cases were reported in the past 28 days.
With that, the number of active Covid-19 clusters in Sarawak has decreased to 89.
As of yesterday (Oct 6), there are a total of 26,995 active cases in Sarawak, out of which 22,258 or 82.5 per cent are under home quarantine.
A total of 3,586 or 13.3 per cent in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRCs), 1,046 patients (3.9 per cent) are hospitalised, 61 patients (0.2 per cent) are in intensive unit care (ICU) unventilated and 44 patients (0.2 per cent) are in ICU requiring ventilator support. — DayakDaily
