KUCHING, July 15: The ‘Jualan Rahmah Bergerak’ programme (PJRB) will be offering a 10 to 30 per cent discount on necessities and selected goods.
According to the Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), in Sarawak, the programme will kick off its first operation in five villages in the Mas Gading parliamentary constituency, namely Kampung Senibong, Kampung Bokah, Kampung Stungkor, Kampung Storm Muda, and Kampung Stenggang.
Sarawak KPDN director Matthew Dominic Barin said the programme is to reach out to more people that will benefit from it, especially in rural areas.
“This is part of the government’s efforts to ease the burden of the cost of living, especially in villages.
“Among the goods sold through the programme are chickens, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, flour, rice, and selected household items,” he said.
He added that Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol contributed RM5,000 during the programme.
The programme will be implemented in all parliamentary constitutions throughout Malaysia, with participation from more than 19 supermarkets, chain stores, and manufacturers.
As of June 30, 2023, the PJRB’s sales revenue reached over RM99 million after being implemented in 3,557 locations involving 158 parliamentary constituencies and 9,508 SKUs (stock-keeping units). — DayakDaily
