KUCHING, Aug 11: One person was killed while one other suffered injuries in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the accident at 2.52am and deployed Bomba Batu Lintang to the location.
The operations commander reported that the accident involved a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle crashing into a roadside tree.
One of the victims was helped out from the vehicle by members of the public while another, who was pinned inside, was extracted by firefighters using rescue tools.
The deceased was identified as Dickson Anggop, 36 years old, who was confirmed dead at the location by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health. — DayakDaily
