Zero positive case today as Tg Manis, Bintulu, Serian turn green

KUCHING, June 8: There is no positive case of Covid-19 reported in Sarawak today.

The information was disclosed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a media statement today.

The committee asserted that the cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases in Sarawak stood at 555 cases.

At the same time, SDMC added three districts namely Tanjung Manis, Bintulu and Serian has became green zone of Covid-19 today as no positive case was recorded from those districts in the past 14 days.

As a result, the committee said there are 37 districts out of the 40 districts in Sarawak has became green zone of Covid-19.

It noted three other districts namely Simunjan, Kuching and Samarahan remained in the yellow zone or area with one to 40 positive cases reported in the last 14 days.

SDMC disclosed that there are four positive cases of Covid-19 reported from Kuching in the last 14 days with two from Kota Samarahan and one in Simunjan.

The statement added that currently there are 10 active cases of Covid-19 with seven in Kuching, two from Kota Samarahan and one in Simunjan.

SDMC added there were 11 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) for Covid-19 in Sarawak whilst nine PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.

Besides, SDMC observed that there were 426 Sarawakians who returned to Sarawak as of today and being quarantined at hotels as person-under surveillance (PUS).

It disclosed that the number of PUS who are undergoing quarantine at the respective hotels throughout Sarawak are 2,150 people while 13,753 PUS have completed their 14 days quarantine today. —DayakDaily
